The Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov announced<\/a> that in Ukraine, 1.823 million cases of coronavirus COVID-19 have already been recorded, the daily increase for April 8 is 19.6 thousand, a small increase compared to the previous day. High rate of hospitalizations per day, but less than yesterday – 4.9 thousand. Fatalities per day \u2013 419.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, April 8, 19,676 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in Ukraine. In particular, 751 children and 552 health workers fell ill.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

However, 11,221 patients recovered and 419 died<\/a> from complications of the disease. 4,936 people with suspected or diagnosed COVID-19 were hospitalized.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The largest number of new cases was recorded in Kyiv (1,864), Dnipropetrovsk (1,665), Lviv (1,639), Kyiv (1,265) and Kharkiv (1,194) oblasts.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,823,674 cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Ukraine, of which 1,395,104 have recovered and 36,381 have died from complications, leaving 384,153 Ukrainians active.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On April 8, the laboratories performed 119,369 tests for coronavirus: 53,373 by PCR and 21,071 by ELISA. They also performed 44,925 rapid tests for virus antigen.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Over 8.5 million PCR tests have been conducted in Ukraine<\/a> so far.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The coronavirus vaccination campaign started in Ukraine on February 24. Over the past 24hrs, 18,569 people have been vaccinated.<\/p>\n

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea<\/a>, Donetsk, Luhansk oblasts, and the city of Sevastopol are missing.<\/p>\n

According to Worldometer, a resource that monitors the situation with the coronavirus in the world, Ukraine ranks 16th in distribution and 18th in the number of deaths from COVID-19.<\/p>\n
