The last week of Lent is considered the strictest and the most important<\/a> in preparation for the holiday. Each day of this week is of great importance for believers and its own special traditions.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

A very special and mournful day. It was on this day that Christ was betrayed.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On this day, the clergy urge parishioners to compare the two paths of life – the repentant harlot Mary Magdalene, who accepted salvation, and the traitor Judas, who chose spiritual destruction, although he was a person close to Jesus, but preferred the silversmiths.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On Wednesday, after the evening service, the priest invites the believers to confess.<\/p>\n

the people believed that on Great Wednesday it was necessary<\/a> to collect the last remaining snow (it could be found in the ravines), melt it, and add salt. This water was poured over livestock to protect it from the evil eye, and therefore from disease and death.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Fasting continues on Wednesday during Holy Week, so the ban on meat, fish, milk, and other animal products is still in force. Also, according to the charter, a raw food diet is required on this day – that is, unprocessed vegetables and fruits, nuts, and seeds.<\/p>\n

On this day, it is allowed to finish household chores, decorate the house. However, sewing and knitting are prohibited. you cannot chop wood.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On Wednesday, a remedy for the evil eye was being prepared in the villages<\/a>. To do this, they put salt under the roof of the house, and on Thursday it was necessary to hide it so that no one knew. Salt should be added to the drink – a pinch per glass.<\/p>\n

WHAT CANNOT BE DONE?<\/p>\n

– It is forbidden to get married and celebrate the wedding<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

– You can’t have fun, participate in all kinds of celebrations<\/p>\n

– Drink alcohol, smoke<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

– Make scandals, argue<\/p>\n

– You can’t lie and make vain promises<\/p>\n
