The European<\/a> Badminton Championship has started in Kyiv’s “Palace of Sports” with the participation of 200 athletes.<\/p>\n

On the first day, those who entered the top 32 in singles and those who entered the top 16 in the men’s and women’s doubles were determined.<\/p>\n

Our Natalia Wojciech (125th in the world rankings) met with Genjira Stadelman (Switzerland, 143rd) and won with a score of 19:21, 21:15, 21:17.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Our young couple of girls Polina Bugrova – Maria Stolyarenko also won (this is only their 2nd performance in international competitions), and they defeated the couple Kate Frost – Moya Ryan (Ireland, 106-a) with a score of 21:17, 21:19.<\/p>\n

The talented Ukrainian couple of young girls Anastasia Prozorova – Valeria Rudakova (109) also performed, they met a strong French couple and lost with a score of 8:21, 10:21.<\/p>\n

The European Badminton Championship was supposed to take place in Kyiv in April 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the competition was postponed to 2021.<\/p>\n
