The British patrol ship “Trent” arrived at the port of Odesa <\/a>this morning at about 10:30. He replaced the American ship USCGC Hamilton, which controlled the situation in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision to send this ship to the Black Sea was made in Great Britain at the end of April when the situation with the Russian troops on the border in Ukraine worsened. This vessel will monitor the situation in the Azov-Black Sea region and will stay here until the beginning of June, namely, until the 4th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note that the length of the River Batch 2 type ship <\/a>is 90 m, width – 13 m, displacement – 2000 tons. “Patrolmen” can reach a speed of 24 knots (44 km \/ h), their autonomy is 35 days, and the cruising range is more than 5000 miles, crew – 60 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each of these ships is armed with a 30mm automatic cannon and two heavy machine guns. In addition, the ship has a platform for Merlin-type helicopters, as well as two Pacific 24RIB speedboats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
