Ukraine Gate – May 31, 2021 \u2013 Entrepreneurs<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Judges were told that the man, who is Syrian, sent an email to his ex-girlfriend threatening her to inform her husband and family of their affair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The man wanted her to pay him 310,000 dirhams that he said he spent on her while the two were together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In September 2019, the 49-year-old posted a photo on Facebook of the Argentine <\/a>woman in a car he claimed he had bought for her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He wrote several insults under the photo he posted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The 49-year-old told the officers that she had been romantically involved with the defendant for nearly four years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Prison terms of up to 25 years as part of stricter penalties under UAE cybercrime laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n She told the court, “He threatened to expose our relationship through an email he sent me.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n She said the man later sent a series of WhatsApp messages to her husband that included inappropriate pictures and threatened her to send the pictures to all of her family and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The woman said, “It ruined my life because I broke up with him.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n At Al Barsha police station, the man admitted to sending <\/a>threatening emails and posting the photo on his Facebook account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He was charged with making threats and insults, which he denied before the court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n
