To prepare a sand ring, peanuts should be pre-dried in the oven or fried in a pan.

2. Softened butter grind with granulated sugar and vanilla sugar with a mixer. When the mass lightens, beat the egg and mix well.

3. In the mass sift flour with baking powder and add salt. Using a spatula, mix all the ingredients, continue to knead with your hands, and form a ball. Wrap the finished dough in cling film and send it to the refrigerator for one hour.

4. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin into a layer about 7 mm thick. Cut a circle with a diameter of 10 cm, and inside make a hole of smaller diameter to get a ring.

5. Grease the ring of dough with egg yolk on top and put the sticky side in a container with chopped peanuts. Squeeze a little so that it sticks to the cookies.

6. Place the finished sand rings on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes at a temperature of 190 ° C. Focus on the color of the cookies. The yolk should bake and darken, while the peanuts turn golden.

Bon appetit!

Read also: How to Cook the Great Marzipan

Source: Ukrgate

Shortbread is used to make various types of cookies, as well as used as a base for making fruit pies and baskets.
