On the evening of June 12, Ukrainian translator, publicist, and writer Les Gerasymchuk died. He compiled and published several English-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-English dictionaries, translated “The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe” and was a simultaneous translator for many years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gerasymchuk died at the age of 77.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What is known about Lesya Gerasymchuk?<\/p>\n\n\n\n The writer and translator was born in Kyiv in 1944. His mother is a ballerina Lydia Gerasymchuk, his father is a reclamation engineer Abram Nasushkin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For about 17 years, Les Gerasymchuk headed the information department at the Institute <\/a>for Integrated Water Resources. He founded and published a number of industry magazines, in which he kept the English-language part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For 20 years Gerasymchuk cooperated with the All-Union Bureau of Scientific and Technical Translation. He operated systems of 4 languages: English, Ukrainian, Polish and Russian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gerasymchuk was the first editor-in-chief of the weekly Vlada I Politika and the Presidential Bulletin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
