American scientists from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana have tested more than 200 popular cosmetics sold in the US and Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine Gate – June 19, 2021 \u2013 Fashion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the results of their study, scientists have stated that many of the tested cosmetics contain unacceptable levels of toxic <\/a>substances that can cause dangerous diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The study found that at least 56% of foundations and eye cosmetics, as well as 48% of lipsticks and 47% of mascaras, contain dangerously high levels of fluoride, which indicates the use of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances in the manufacture of cosmetics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This group primarily includes water-resistant and indelible substances. Once in the blood, these substances tend to accumulate and are extremely poorly excreted from the body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Researchers also report the risk of environmental pollution that occurs during the disposal and production of these chemicals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition to cosmetics, these substances are also used in non-stick cookware, fabrics with a special coating, and packaging for fast food<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They are not prone to decomposition and can persist in soil and water for decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Studies have linked certain PFAS to the risk of cancer, hypertension, thyroid disease, and birth defects in children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is noteworthy that of all the detected products containing pfas-substances, only one was listed as an ingredient on the package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n
