Ukraine Gate &#8211; June 21, 2021 \u2013 Diplomatic Affairs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Acting party The Prime <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukrgate.com\/eng\/?p=15350\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"15350\">Minister <\/a>of Armenia Nikola Pashinyan is leading in last week&#8217;s early parliamentary elections with 59.49% of the vote, in the bloc of ex-President Robert Kocharian &#8220;Armenia&#8221; &#8211; 18.14%. This is evidenced by CEC data after processing ballots from 437 polling stations out of 2,008 (21.7%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the moment, only the political forces of Pashinyan and Kocharyan are overcoming the electoral barrier, which is 5% for parties and 7% for blocs. Former President Serzh Sargsyan&#8217;s bloc is receiving 5.63% of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukrgate.com\/eng\/?p=6101\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"6101\">vote<\/a>, while businessman Gagik Tsarukyan&#8217;s Prosperous Armenia party is gaining 4.78%. The remaining parties and blocs do not have three percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Yerevan, where about a third of the country&#8217;s voters voted, ballots from 18 polling stations were counted. According to these polling stations, Pashinyan&#8217;s party leads with 41.97%, in Kocharyan&#8217;s bloc &#8211; 27.14%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Prosecutor General&#8217;s Office of Armenia reported 319 appeals concerning election violations. According to her representative Edgar Arsenyan, 150 of them have signs of a crime. \u201cSix criminal cases have been instituted each, the participants of which are connected with bribes. 144 cases are aimed at investigation and preparation of documents, \u201dthe statement reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pashinyan, then prime minister, announced early <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukrgate.com\/eng\/?p=11027\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"11027\">elections <\/a>in March. To resign early, he resigned in late April and became acting prime minister. President Armen Sargsyan signed a decree on holding early elections, calling them for June 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main rivals in the last elections are Pashinyan and Kocharyan. At the time of the snap election, Pashinyan&#8217;s My Step bloc was ahead of other political forces in popularity, with almost 32% of those polled ready to vote for it, and about 6% ahead of Kocharyan&#8217;s Armenia bloc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, before the election, the situation changed and the ratings of opponents were almost equal: 23.8% of respondents were ready to vote for Pashinyan&#8217;s bloc, and 24.1% for Kocharyan&#8217;s bloc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Extraordinary parliamentary elections were held in Armenia today. Polling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukrgate.com\/eng\/?p=14537\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"14537\">stations<\/a> were opened throughout the country. Voters had to choose between 21 political parties and four-party alliances within 12 hours.
