Despite the challenges of the coronavirus disease pandemic<\/a>, the 52nd Cairo International Book Fair will take place from June 30 to July 15, it was announced on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyiv. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – June 24, 2021 – Forums and Conferences<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Egyptian Ministry of Culture said that the exhibition, under the slogan \u201cReading is life,\u201d will be held at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, in an area of \u200b\u200b40,000 square meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be 675 pavilions and 1,218 publishers, as well as foreign publishing agencies representing 25 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fair will launch the \u201cYour Book, Your Culture\u201d initiative, which aims to encourage citizens to buy books and urge them to read. Book prices range between EGP ($0.064) and EGP 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Minister of Culture<\/a>, Enas Abdel Dayem, said that holding the exhibition this year is a challenge, describing this year’s event as “exceptional” and a clear indication of the Egyptian leadership’s keenness to encourage reading and publishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are entering a new era of digital transformation and development. This year’s fair is the largest gathering of publishers in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abdel-Dayem said that entry will be free this year and that prices will remain fixed, adding that the idea of \u200b\u200bincreasing the number of exhibition days will support the publishing industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The maximum number of posts will be 100,000 visitors <\/a>per day, and no one will be allowed to enter once we reach this number,” Haitham Al-Haj Ali, head of the General Book Authority, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that facilities have been provided to accommodate people with special needs, which can be requested and booked online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
