Ukraine Gate &#8211; July 10, 2021 \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukrgate.com\/eng\/?cat=8\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Education<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is stated in the first annual report &#8220;Respect for Rights in Education &#8211; 2020&#8221; by Education Ombudsman Sergei Gorbachev.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the document, corruption is most often caused by low salaries in educational institutions, as well as historical tolerance of corruption and its perception as the norm due to low awareness of citizens about corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lack of transparency and imperfect reporting also contribute to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukrgate.com\/eng\/?p=16264\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"16264\">development <\/a>of corruption in education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report notes that corruption is most developed in the following educational areas: textbooks (from stamping to selection and procurement); additional materials (notebooks, didactic materials); logistical support of educational institutions, namely absolutely all purchases, food, repairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, significant areas of corruption are documents on education (certificates, diplomas), admission and enrollment in educational institutions, student assessment, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSchools often collect money <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukrgate.com\/eng\/?p=16267\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"16267\">illegally <\/a>and uncontrollably from parents for the needs of the school and students, which should be provided by the state, or for gifts from the administration.
