Ukraine Gate – July 17, 2021 – Ukraine Society and Culture<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This was reported by the Pleso utility company, subordinated to the Kyiv City State Administration’s executive body for the protection, maintenance, and operation of the Kyiv Water Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This decision <\/a>was made for preventive purposes, because in conditions of prolonged abnormal heat in the water actively reproduces blue-green algae, which consume oxygen from the water and emit toxic substances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As a result, the level of dissolved oxygen in the water decreases, which is a prerequisite for the death of fish. In such conditions, the sanitary quality of water deteriorates significantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For this reason, swimming is currently prohibited on all 14 beaches in Kyiv<\/a>. At the same time on the shore, you can still relax or sunbathe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Pleso urges Ukrainians to report the discovery of mass killings of fish in Kyiv’s water bodies so that the utility can take prompt action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n
