For the second time in a row (after the 2016 Games in Rio), Jean Beleniuk advanced to the finals of the Olympics in wrestling at the Tokyo Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting his performances in the 1\/8 finals, the Ukrainian wrestler first defeated the European champion <\/a>Zurab Datunashvili, whom he lost in 2021. Then he knocked out the representative of Algeria Bashid Sid Asar due to the fact that the latter scored a point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Belenyuk argued with Croatian Ivan Guklek for reaching the final. In 2021, the Croatian wrestler became the winner of the world qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guklek was the first point in the fight. The Croat looked more active than the Ukrainian, but on the ground, Beleniuk did not give a chance to the opponent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The first three minutes ended for Belenyuk with a minimal gap in points<\/a>. However, a minute later the Ukrainian came out ahead – took a point for activity, and then – roll and six more points.
