This was announced by the director of the National Research Center &#8220;Institute of Agrarian Economics&#8221;, an Academician of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences Yuri Lupenko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Kyiv. Ukraine Gate \u2013 August 20, 2021 \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukrgate.com\/eng\/?cat=3\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Agriculture<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He noted that last year&#8217;s rate of return on sunflower was the highest in recent years and almost 16% higher than in 2019 when it was 23.5%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, the profitability of sunflower almost doubled the same figure for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukrgate.com\/eng\/?p=5175\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"5175\">grain<\/a>, which amounted to 20.0% against 11.8% in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The profitability of vegetable production has also increased: from 7.0% in 2019 to 8.3% last year, the scientist said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, potato production became less profitable &#8211; 11.0% last year against 15.4% in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukrgate.com\/eng\/?p=5417\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"5417\">Sugar <\/a>beet production, which was profitable in 2008-2017, has been unprofitable for the third year in a row (-3.5%), Yuriy Lupenko stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In animal husbandry, according to him, only milk production remained profitable &#8211; the level of profitability was 20.4%, which is almost at the level of 2019 (20.6%), as well as pork &#8211; 2.6% vs. 4.7%.
