This is especially important for the elderly, as adequate night&#8217;s rest preserves brain health. If people slept less than 6 hours, their cognitive functions deteriorated, and the level of dangerous plaques associated with senile dementia increased in the brain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People who slept too much showed poorer memory and slower response, despite the lack of high levels of beta-amyloid proteins in the brain. The researchers analyzed the brain function of 4,500 people with an average age of 71 from the United States, Canada, Australia, and Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Independent experts believe that the data obtained confirm the already known links between the accumulation of beta-amyloid protein and the deterioration of cognitive activity.
