Referring to the writer’s website, he died suddenly, with his wife Nesso at his side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wilbur Smith, one of the most prolific and well-known authors in the world, was born on January 9, 1933, in northern Rhodesia, present-day Zambia, and survived malaria (infected at 18 months) and polio (16 years).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I went through hard times and failed marriages, I saw people I loved die in my arms, but in the end it all contributed to the fact that I lived an extremely rich and beautiful life.
