“The Director General of the Ministry of Health, Professor Nachman Ash, has approved the recommendation of the IDF and the Coronavirus Vaccine Advisory Group to vaccinate children aged 5-11 with the coronavirus vaccine,” the Israeli Ministry of Health said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As stated, in his justification, Nachman Ash explained that the vast majority of committee members believe that the vaccine has a good safety profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Efficacy data presented by Pfizer indicate 91% efficacy in disease prevention in children aged 5-11 years in a controlled clinical trial. Most experts believe that the benefits of the vaccine at this age outweigh the risks associated with it, the ministry said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The start of vaccination for this age group will be determined in the coming days,” the agency added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
