“Regional issues and issues that will improve Turkish-Ukrainian relations were discussed during the talks,” the Erdogan administration said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The phone call came amid a warning from the United States that Russia could plan to invade Ukraine as Moscow builds forces on the western border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and the Pentagon, recently said they were closely monitoring the build-up of military power, but Bloomberg reported that the Biden administration went further and officially warned allies about the European Union about a possible Russian military offensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shortly after the warning, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg warned Russia on Monday that the Western military alliance was on Ukraine’s side amid an unusual deployment of Russian troops on Ukraine’s borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Turkey, a NATO member, has criticized Moscow’s annexation of Crimea and said it supports Ukraine’s territorial integrity. The United States and the UN General Assembly also consider the annexation illegal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
