SpaceX’s Falcon 9 launch vehicle has launched 48 more satellites into orbit as part of the deployment of Starlink’s global Internet coverage network, SpaceX reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The deployment of 48 Starlink satellites has been confirmed,” the company said in a statement on Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The launch took place from the spaceport at Cape Canaveral in the US state of Florida on Friday night Kyiv time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Falcon 9 rocket also launched two new geospatial reconnaissance satellites from the American company BlackSky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Deployment of BlackSky satellites has been confirmed,” the company said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Starlink network, which will be launched in May 2019, is designed to provide Internet access to users around the world by placing a large number of small spacecraft (weighing up to 500 kg) in Earth orbit. This communications system will provide 1G gigabit per second broadband internet access, including hard-to-reach and sparsely populated areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
