Three skiers were killed and two were injured in an avalanche in central Austria, local authorities said on Sunday .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victims were part of a group of 11 skiers, eight of whom fell under a snow plate about 200 meters wide as they climbed a slope during a ski tour in the Tweng district of Salzburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Three skiers were completely covered by an avalanche. Rescuers managed to find two skiers with the help of search engines; one was already dead and the other later died at a hospital in Klagenfurt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The third skier buried under the snow did not have a search device. His body was found about four hours after the avalanche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The victims were two Austrians, 19 years old, and the other 24. Two injured skiers, who got out of the avalanche on their own, were taken to a local hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
