“It all depends on the region, but in general in the country the harvest (potatoes – ed.) Is much higher than last year. I think (higher – ed.) 15% guaranteed, perhaps in some regions and 30%, “said Furdyga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to him, this year the area under potatoes was larger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Because for two years there was more or less stability in the price policy for food potatoes, and people planted a lot. There will be enough potatoes. It will increase in price by no more than a hryvnia. This is my personal prediction, \u201dFurdyga said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ministry of Economy reported earlier that potato production in 2020, according to regional state administrations, amounted to 20.72 million tons. And that in 2020 there was a significant decline in average potato yield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the beginning of the year, potatoes began to increase in price and in a few months rose in price by a total of 19.9% \u200b\u200b- from UAH 10.15 \/ kg in January to UAH 12.17 \/ kg in March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
