They build up a dense protective layer that lasts all year round. Due to this, it is not easy for them to adapt if the temperature rises sharply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Researchers say the Arctic is warming at twice the rate of the rest of the world. According to Youko Kumpula, a senior researcher at the Finnish Institute of Natural Resources, warming causes early snowfall and rain to form a thick layer of ice when the frost hits. Deer can&#8217;t break through this ice and find food.
