{"id":2844,"date":"2020-11-26T12:23:51","date_gmt":"2020-11-26T12:23:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ukrgate.com\/eng\/?p=2844"},"modified":"2021-04-01T12:15:54","modified_gmt":"2021-04-01T12:15:54","slug":"the-worlds-largest-wind-farm-soon-in-great-britain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ukrgate.com\/eng\/?p=2844","title":{"rendered":"The World&#8217;s Largest Wind Farm Soon in Great Britain"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the leading British energy companies SSE and the Norwegian Equinor will build the world&#8217;s largest offshore wind farm in the North Sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Bloomberg , the facility, dubbed the Dogger Bank, will be located off the east coast of England, will have turbines the size of a skyscraper and will generate enough renewable electricity to meet 5% of Britain&#8217;s needs, or the equivalent of six million homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The decision came just days after the European Union announced $ 940 billion in wind energy to meet stricter pollution targets, as well as after Prime Minister Boris Johnson&#8217;s &#8220;green&#8221; plan to support renewable energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The total investment in the first two phases of the project will be about 6 billion pounds ($ 8 billion). Each phase has a capacity of 1,200 MW and generates about 6,000 gigawatt-hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will be recalled that the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson has announced a plan worth 12 billion pounds ($ 15.9 billion) to stimulate &#8220;green&#8221; industry and combat climate change.
