“Trends in the spread of Omicron in the world indicate that Ukraine will not avoid a new outbreak of coronavirus disease. At the same time, the medical system is constantly improving to the next load,” – said the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ministry of Health said that research on the new strain of COVID-19 “Omicron”, which is spreading rapidly around the world, is still ongoing, but it is possible to identify the symptoms that are most common in patients with this strain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In particular, in 73% of cases there is a runny nose, in 67.5% – a headache, in 63.5% – fatigue. Also in 60% of cases there is sneezing and sore throat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the same time, there was no significant difference from the symptoms of the Delta strain, which currently dominates in Ukraine. , chills or tremors (30%), fever (29.4%), loss \/ distortion of smell and \/ or taste (23.7%), etc., “the Ministry of Health said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new strain, the Ministry of Health added, has a shorter incubation period than the Delta strain. On average, according to scientific studies, it is 3 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although the symptoms of Omicron appear to be similar to the common cold, the new strain has also been shown to cause long-term health consequences, hospitalization and death. Due to the rapid spread of Omicron, those who have not undergone at least a basic course of vaccination against COVID-19 are at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It is important that everyone follows the anti-epidemic rules, because the incidence rate is gradually increasing,” the Ministry of Health said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
