The results of the study are published in the International Journal of Epidemiology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cResearch has shown that people who ate red or processed meat four or more times a week had a 20% higher risk of colorectal cancer than those who ate less than twice a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The risk of colorectal cancer increases by 19% with each daily 25-gram serving of processed meat, which is equivalent to a slice of ham.
