Large images of the “Z” can be seen in the Maxar satellite images of May 12 in the northeastern part of the island. This letter has become a symbol of Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine and is often used in Russian propaganda. Russian military equipment is also often marked with such a label.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also on May 12, the satellite recorded a sunken boat of the “Serna” type, near which – a floating crane. This landing craft was destroyed by the Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle “Bayraktar” on May 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another “Serna” type boat was also photographed near the floating crane and the sunken boat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, a similar floating crane was seen in Sevastopol, in the Bay of Holland. The Planet Labs satellite recorded it in the occupied Crimea on May 11. Usually in the bay “Holland” are based warships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a telethon on May 13, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov stated that the struggle for the Snake Island, which is of strategic importance, will last as long as necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, according to Budanov, theoretically this is the only region through which Russian forces can try to land on the territory of the occupied Transnistrian region of Moldova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 11, the British Ministry of Defense reported, citing intelligence, that fighting was under way on Snake Island in the Black Sea, Russia was trying to strengthen its open garrison stationed there, and Ukraine had successfully attacked Russian air defenses and Bayraktar drones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Snake Island in the Black Sea has been under temporary Russian occupation for more than two months, since the Russian attack in the first days of the full-scale war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
