Ukraine Gate- Kyiv \u2013 May 15, 2022 – Finnish President Sauli Niinist\u00f6 announced on Sunday that his country will formally apply for NATO membership, as the decision was made at a joint meeting between the president and the government’s Committee on Foreign and Security Policy, and Niinist\u00f6 believes that this increases the country’s security.
Niinist\u00f6 also expressed his hope that the Finnish parliament would approve the decision to appeal to the coalition.
The decision will be debated in Parliament on Monday and the vote is likely to take place on Tuesday, and the application on Wednesday, and support for the idea of \u200b\u200bjoining NATO has doubled among the Finnish people.
