The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine plans to revise the price of natural gas for “socially vulnerable” consumers.<\/p>\n

In fact, we are talking about price regulation for all household consumers – about 12.5 million consumers.<\/p>\n

The formula for calculating the price of gas proposed in the draft Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On Ensuring Social Protection of Vulnerable Consumers in the Natural Gas Market” provides for determining the price on a “hub-minus” basis, ie without taking into account the cost of gas transportation from NCG to Ukraine’s western border. The supplier’s trade margin is set at 2.5%. It is with this surcharge that the price will be considered marginal.<\/p>\n

“According to our calculations, we are talking about the price level of UAH 5,356, which is 44% less than the weighted average price in January. To understand, if nothing is done, we should expect that the price will increase by another 15% in February, “- said Acting Minister of Energy Yuriy Vitrenko.<\/p>\n
