Chebotaryova National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine Vira Tchaikovska announced that 80% of single people or single elderly couples live below the poverty line.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to her, 90% of retirees do not have the opportunity to pay for medical services: medicine, treatment, hospitalization.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Every third elderly person does not seek medical help, having 5-6 chronic diseases,&#8221; Tchaikovsky said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The aging process in Ukraine is proceeding at a rapid pace, says the professor. In turn, this was proved by a study by the Institute of Gerontology.
