Former world heavyweight champion according to the WBC and WBA, American boxer Leon Spinks has died<\/a> at the age of 68.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n For the past five years, Spinks has had prostate cancer, which led to his death. When the boxer died, his wife Brenda Glura Spinks was with him, the publication notes.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In addition to the World Cup, Spinks also won gold at the 1976 Olympics. But he gained his greatest popularity after his victory over Mohammed Ali in 1978.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ali was then 36 years old. He was about to end his career and hoped to knock out Spinks. But it turned out differently, Spinsk won by a separate decision of the judges<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Later, a rematch took place between the boxers, in which Ali defeated the opponent by a unanimous decision of the judges. Three years later, Spinks ended his career. In total, he had 46 fights, 26 victories, 17 defeats, and 3 draws.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In turn, in June 2016, the legendary boxer Mohammed Ali passed away, who died in the United States at the age of 75 after more than 30 years of fighting Parkinson’s disease.<\/p>\n
