The Minister of Defense<\/a> of Ukraine decided that the training ship<\/a> of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “Vinnytsia” will become a museum.<\/p>\n

According to Andriy Taran, the issue of transferring the corvette as a museum object to the branch of the National<\/a> Military<\/a> History Museum of Ukraine – the Central Naval Museum – is currently being considered. The ship built 45 years ago, in the format of public-private partnership plans to place on the 8th berth of Nikolaev.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Creating a museum exposition on the basis of a warship will turn it into one of the powerful centers of military and patriotic education of youth. The traditions<\/a> of the Ukrainian navy will be popularized here, and the berth will become one of the centers of tourism of shipbuilders,” he said.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This will be preserved for the history of one of the last representatives of the corvettes of the project “1124”, as a model of shipbuilding in the 70s of last century.<\/p>\n

There are several hundred museum ships in the world, which display an exhibition<\/a> dedicated to the history, crew, and events of the ship. The most famous of these are the sailing battleship “Victory” in British Portsmouth or the American battleship “Iowa” in Los Angeles. Ukraine has its own history of warships. The Vinnytsia Corvette will be the first such naval heritage site.<\/p>\n

The Vinnytsia Corvette is a multi-purpose coastal ship. Launched in 1976. Performed tasks in the Black Sea. He participated in many multinational exercises as a member of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
