When asked by the audience what will happen to the current Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov and “where does Arestovych himself”, the spokesman of the Ukrainian delegation said the following:
“I’m aiming for a president, it’s no secret. Then, for a few political tacts. And I don’t know what will happen to Avakov, “Arestovych said.
Host Serhiy Leshchenko asked if it was possible that Arestovich and Avakov would meet in the election. The spokesman replied: “Maybe, but obviously not tomorrow.”
From 1999 to 2005, Oleksiy Arestovych worked in the Central Intelligence Agency, which was then headed by the current chairman of the Power and Honor party, Igor Smeshko. After that, he studied psychology and theology, worked as an actor in theater and cinema. He has the rank of reserve major.
After 2014, Arestovych began commenting on military topics in the Ukrainian media, including the war in Donbas, as well as writing about them on his Facebook page and in the media. In parallel, he conducted seminars on psychology.
In 2017, Arestovych made a post on the social network, in which he admitted that he had “lied a lot since 2014” and was engaged in “propaganda work.”
In October 2020, Arestovych became the speaker of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG, and he also became a freelance adviser to the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, on strategic communications in the field of national security and defense.
On March 16, 2021, Arestovych sent a user to “on x * y” when asked to write a post on the social network about TCG meetings in Ukrainian.
According to Arestovich, this “was a worthy answer to a person in the language he understands.” Later, in an interview with Radio Svoboda, Arestovich said he regretted it in some way, but was not going to apologize because it was “for the cause, it’s not for the language.”
