The official website of the Ukrainian Book Institute publishes a rating of projects to translate Ukrainian literature into other languages, the Patriot of Donbas reports.
According to the PEC, the participants submitted 122 projects for competitive selection, 9 of which were rejected due to their non-compliance with the requirements of paragraphs 7-9 of the Regulations on the program to support translations of Ukrainian literature into other languages and due to the impossibility of projects by applicants. according to the defined terms.
113 applications that meet the requirements of the Regulations on the translation support program received from 72 participants in the competitive selection were sent by e-mail to the members of the Expert Council for Project Selection.
The Ukrainian Book Institute reported that in the period from 19 to 31 May, members of the Expert Council carried out a thematic and substantive evaluation of projects in accordance with the evaluation criteria and filled in individual evaluation information. On June 3, 2021, a meeting was held, during which the members of the Expert Council reviewed the consolidated evaluation sheet formed on the basis of their individual information, approved the results of the thematic and substantive evaluation of projects, and set a minimum passing score for projects – 51 points.
According to the published list of 90 projects that received a passing score, 52 are fiction, 21 are children’s literature, 13 are non-fiction, and 4 are poetry.
The highest number of points was received for applications for translations of books by Stanislav Aseev, Sofia Andrukhovych, Olesya Yaremchuk, Tamara Orikha Zernya, Andriy Lyubka, Gaska Shiyan, Lesya Ukrainka, Andriy Lesiv, and Romana Romanyshyn, Ivan Franko, Yuriy Vynnychuk, Lyuba Yakymtsov, Oleg S. In addition to them, the list also includes Hryhoriy Skovoroda, Marko Vovchok, Ivan Nechuy-Levytsky, Valerian Pidmohylny, Lina Kostenko, Vasyl Shevchuk, Andriy Kokotyukha, Vakhtang Kipiani, Volodymyr Rafeenko, and others.
In addition, it is noted that a total of supported projects will be translated into 31 countries. The largest number of applications is in Germany, 13 in Bulgaria, 8 in the USA, 8 in Poland, 6 in Macedonia, 4 in Iran, 4 in Lithuania, 3 in France, and 3 in Mongolia.
