NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg gave an interview to the Spanish newspaper El Pais. In it, he stated that “only Ukraine itself should decide what will be acceptable to it during future talks with Russia.”

Stoltenberg commented on the upcoming NATO summit in Madrid.

“It will be a historic event, primarily because the 30 Allies are meeting in the midst of Europe’s biggest security crisis since the end of World War II. And the joint appearance in Madrid is a powerful signal in these unpredictable and dangerous times … We agree to the greatest transformation of our collective defense since the end of the Cold War – with an increase in the number of troops, a readiness to respond quickly and a large amount of ready-made equipment, ”said the NATO Secretary General.
In the same interview, Stoltenberg added that only Ukraine itself should decide what will be acceptable to it during future talks with Russia and what will not.
The summit will also be attended by United States President Joe Biden .
