During an interview with a pharmacist in her twenties—as part of an inspiring story series we are developing on women’s empowerment—the young woman spoke with genuine spontaneity and gratitude about a life-altering experience. Following a severe car accident, she underwent an amputation of one of her fingers, which plunged her into a difficult psychological state and caused her to lose much of her self-confidence, especially given how the injury impacted her daily life, work, and social presence.
Throughout her narrative, she emphasized that what restored her hope was not merely the medical treatment, but the people who treated her with profound humanity and genuine care. She shared her experience within the Royal Medical Services, in cooperation with the Crown Prince Foundation, under the care of Dr. Ahmad Tayseer Al-Zoubi and Dr. Yasmeena Ziad Al-Hayasat.
The patient recounted how the two doctors successfully provided an innovative medical solution by utilizing a dental implant inside the missing finger—an advanced alternative to traditional methods. This procedure granted her a functional finger that is as close as possible to a natural one in terms of appearance, stability, and sensation, helping her reclaim an essential part of her daily life and self-confidence after a prolonged period of psychological pain and hopelessness.
She added that the psychological and emotional support she received throughout her treatment journey was no less important than the medical aspect. She affirmed that Dr. Yasmeena Ziad Al-Hayasat was, to her, a true role model of a successful woman capable of making a profound humanitarian difference, alongside Dr. Ahmad Tayseer Al-Zoubi, in an experience that ultimately restored her sense of normalcy and renewed her faith in life.
