During a telephone conversation with his Moldovan counterpart Aurelio Chokoy, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuliba confirmed that Ukraine was not involved in the kidnapping of Judge Mykola Chaos and suggested the formation of a joint committee on this issue.
Kiev. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – April 08, 2021 – Diplomatic Affairs
The press service of the Foreign Ministry reported on this Wednesday evening when Kuliba told Chuka that Ukrainian law enforcement officers were expected to hand over Chaos after the positive outcome of the trial of Mykola Chaos against the refusal to grant him asylum.
The minister emphasized that Ukraine is not involved in what happened with Mykola Chaos and said in order to know the circumstances of the case, including the whereabouts of the former judge, it was suggested to Moldova to establish a joint working group. Kuliba also confirmed that Moldova was and still is a friend of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian side is convinced that it is trying to exploit the situation to its advantage, which is not only interested in further deepening cooperation between Ukraine and Moldova but also aims to disrupt the positive development of relations between the two countries and enhance European prospects.
We recall a few days ago, the judge was kidnapped by a group of unknown gunmen in central Chisina. According to the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs, the judge was transferred to Ukraine. Moldovan President Maya Sandhu described the fact that Ukrainian judge Mykola Chosa was kidnapped in the country as unacceptable.
