LinkedIn has confirmed that the data of approximately 500 million users of the social network is up for sale on a popular website among hackers, noting that the information does not contain any personal information.

The sale of the hacked data was first reported on April 6 by CyberNews, which noted that the archive includes user IDs, names, email addresses, phone numbers, gender, professional statuses, and links to social media profiles. Although the information is publicly available, the database has been selling for four digits.
LinkedIn noted that the database “is actually a collection of data from a number of websites and companies” and only includes information that people have publicly provided on their profiles.
According to LinkedIn data, the social network has more than 675 million users. This means that about 3/4 of user information can be included in the database.
A similar data leak from Facebook was previously reported. Then, along with the information of 533 million users, Zuckerberg’s phone was also on the network.
