Two US warships were scheduled to enter the Black Sea and remain there until May 5, but the Turkish Foreign Ministry said it had refused to do so.

Two American warships, the Donald Cook and the Roosevelt delayed their voyage to the Black Sea. It is argued that the US refusal to bring ships into the Black Sea could be a goodwill step to reduce tensions. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has asked Russia to withdraw its troops, while the Moscow administration has warned the United States not to act provocatively.
It is said that the US decision to abandon the decision to transfer warships to the Black Sea coincided with a telephone conversation between US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In his phone call, Biden expressed concern about Russia’s military build-up on the Ukrainian border and asked him to give up. Biden also offered to meet with Putin face-to-face in a third country in the coming months.
The United States announced that Turkey had sent two warships to the Black Sea two weeks ago amid rising tensions in Ukraine.
Commenting on these actions, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the United States was allegedly ” carrying out a provocation .” A detachment of ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation went to the Black Sea to conduct artillery fire.
