Ukraine’s military expenditures reached $ 5.92 billion. and increased over the year by 10.6%. Such data are presented in the annual report of the Stockholm Institute for Peace Studies (SIPRI), published on Monday, April 26.

According to SIPRI, in 2019 Ukraine’s military expenditures amounted to 5,419 million dollars, and in 2020 – 5,995 million dollars. In 2020, they currently amount to $ 5,924 million.
Expenditures in hryvnia amount to UAH 140,003 million in 2019 and UAH 159,788 million in 2020, respectively. And as a percentage of GDP – 3.5% and 4.1%, according to experts.
For 2020, security and defense, according to the draft budget, should have been allocated 5.45% of the projected GDP – UAH 245.8 billion. Of which 3% of GDP, UAH 136 billion, was allocated for defense.
By 2021, national security and defense expenditures projected at least 5.93% of GDP for the security and defense sector, while financial security for the needs of the security and defense sector projected at least 267.25 billion UAH.
