Young researchers from Ukraine participated in ICYS – Annual International Conference of Young Scientists. Where the delegation of the Small Academy of Sciences succeeded in winning a number of awards.

The conference was held via the Internet in Serbia – from April 22-28. It was attended by 142 researchers at the school from 23 countries.
The Ukrainian delegation participating in the competition included 11 students from the Academy of Sciences.
Compete for awards in the departments of engineering, physics, mathematics, and life sciences.
The Ukrainians won 1 gold, 3 silver, 4 bronze, 4 medals in the “poster display” category, and one special prize.
The Small Academy of Sciences explained that in order to be able to represent Ukraine at the conference, students must pass a preliminary selection.

Water analysis – gold
Ilarion Koleshov, an 11th grader from Zaporizhia, won the gold medal in the competition.
Presented the evolution of rapid analysis of dispersed systems.
While a young scientist invented a device that helps determine the extent of water pollution and makes it possible to analyze water for dust, dirt, and plastic parts.
The salvation of forest insects – silver
10th grader Volodymyr Pavlenko from Kyiv discovered how to save forest ants, Formica rufibarbis.
He won a silver award for this project.

How to use solar energy for good
Blafenko independently designed a private in-house incubator from test tubes connected by microfibre. In the fall of 2020, a fertilized ant uterus lay there.
And in the spring of 2021, the teenager plans to transfer the cultivated ants to the natural environment and this will increase their number.
Silver – hand warmers
Ticia Corsina from the Kherson region also won a silver medal.
Where the girl presented at the competition special gloves – autonomous hand heaters.
They also help people suffering from Raynaud’s disease – circulatory disorders.
It is caused by severe narrowing of the blood vessels, and not enough blood entering the fingers and toes.
In addition to the invention itself, Chursina has developed a special mobile application for gloves. With his help, the doctor will be able to monitor the patient’s condition.
Study of hydrodynamic fluctuations – silver
The silver medalist in the eleventh grade was Victor Olano from Dnipro. He studied the origin of endogenous oscillations in the hydrodynamic system.
He noted that the results of the research on the Dnieper River could be used in the design of nuclear power plants.
Winners of bronze medals among the Ukrainians
Representatives of the Ukrainian delegation also won bronze prizes for projects in mathematics and physics. They won:
Olga Glazunova from Sumy – for work on estimating the area of \ u200b \ u200bthe parts of the triangle;
Mikhelo Darko from Kyiv – for mathematical modeling of large deformations of torsion of straight prisms;
Danalu Kikh from Kherson – for weather modeling on Mars;
From Dnipro Andrei Terentyev – Analysis of patterns of movement of the friction pendulum.
