Minister of Infrastructure Vladislav Krykliy held a working meeting with the Minister of Transport of Canada Omar Alhambra on April 29, online. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation between the two countries, in particular in the field of aviation.

The talks were also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Canada Andriy Shevchenko, Head of the State Aviation Service Oleksandr Bilchuk, Acting Director of UkSATSE Andriy Yarmak, representatives of ministries.
Vladyslav Krykliy and Omar Alhambra discussed the possible liberalization of scheduled air services between Ukraine and Canada, as well as the participation of the Ukrainian side in the Canadian Safer Skies initiative, in which Canada cooperates with international organizations, the civil aviation industry, and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). to increase the safety of commercial airlines traveling in high-risk areas and to prevent future tragedies.
In turn, Vladyslav Krykliy noted the importance of continuing the Safer Skies initiative and suggested including Ukraine in the work of this forum not only as an observer but also as a full participant.
The parties also discussed the state of cooperation between the ministries in the context of the investigation of the PS752 flight crash. Therefore, the State Aviation Service of Ukraine has already prepared and submitted its comments on the draft final report prepared by the Civil Aviation Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran based on the results of the accident investigation. Relevant comments were also made to the representatives of Canada.
