On Friday, June 25, 756 cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Ukraine: 29 children and 12 doctors.
526 people were hospitalized with complications. At the same time, 1,835 recovered, and 35, unfortunately, died.
During the whole pandemic in Ukraine, 2,333,546 people became ill. Of these, 2,161,972 recovered and 52,269 died.
Over the last 24 hours, the largest number of confirmed cases was registered in Kyiv (205), Kyiv (54), Kharkiv (44), Sumy (40), and Lviv (33) oblasts.
On Thursday, there were 876 confirmed cases. Since June 18, the number of infected people per day does not exceed a thousand people. The number of those who recovered in a day still exceeds the number of patients. This trend is observed for almost two months.
However, Ukraine has not yet overcome the pandemic, experts say, so there is no reason to mitigate quarantine. On June 23, the country discovered the first cases of infection with a dangerous strain of coronavirus “Delta” – in newcomers from Russia.
According to analysts, in Ukraine in the event of an outbreak of COVID-19 due to the “Indian” version of the virus, the health care system will “last” a month and a half.
The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine expects that by the end of the summer the Delta strain will dominate throughout Europe, and in Ukraine due to low vaccination rates and large migration from Russia it may spread faster and have more severe consequences than in Western countries.
WHO expert, epidemiologist, head of the Department of Epidemiology, Lviv National Medical University. Daniela Halytskyi Natalia Vynohrad stated that all vaccines available in Ukraine protect against the “Indian” (“Delta”) strain of coronavirus, but with less effectiveness than other options.
