The foreign ministers of the Lublin Triangle countries – Ukraine, Lithuania, and Poland – signed three joint documents, including support for Ukraine’s membership in the EU and NATO.
Kyiv. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – July 7, 2021 – Ukraine News
This was stated by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba during a live broadcast from Vilnius, where the International Conference on Reforms in Ukraine will take place on July 7-8.
He said that he had met twice with his colleagues from Lithuania and Poland – last night and this morning.
In particular, yesterday the foreign ministers discussed Nord Stream-2, Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration, and the situation in Belarus.
“This morning … we – the foreign ministers of the Lublin Triangle – signed two documents and approved another one, ie a total of three documents,” the minister said.
According to him, the first document is a declaration of a common historical heritage and common values.
“In this document, we state that unites our countries not only in the past but also in the future. In the future, it is, of course, a united Europe. Both Lithuania and Poland confirm in this declaration that they will make every effort to make Ukraine became a member of NATO and the EU, support the Crimean platform, condemn Russia’s aggression against our state, “Kuleba said.
In his opinion, another important element of this document is the recognition of the fact that the Constitution of Pylyp Orlyk is “an integral and important part of the common democratic legal tradition of our part of Europe, as well as the first Polish constitution and legislation of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.”
The Minister stressed that the Lublin Triangle is an alternative to the “Russian measure” in this part of Europe, so the ministers of these countries hope that Belarus will join them.
The second document signed by the ministers is a roadmap for the development of the Lublin Triangle, which includes various issues from the economy and youth exchanges to combating hybrid threats.
The third document is a plan of measures to combat misinformation.
“Three of our countries have a unique experience in countering Russian disinformation … Ukraine … has the greatest experience in how Russian disinformation works and how to counter it. Our three countries will join forces not only to jointly fight against disinformation but and so that other countries can learn from us and borrow our experience, “said the Foreign Minister.
He clarified that the ministers agreed to develop a joint report on combating misinformation.
