In particular, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and the Ambassador of Peru to Poland and Ukraine Alberto Efrain Wilfredo Salas Baraona signed an agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Peru on the abolition of short-stay visas.
The agreement introduces a mutual visa-free travel regime for citizens of Ukraine and Peru for up to 90 days for 180 days.
“The Foreign Ministry is systematically working to increase travel opportunities for Ukrainians and open Ukraine to the world. Expansion of visa-free travel from Peru will increase the number of people-to-people contacts, promote new cultural, professional, and business contacts between our countries, ”Kuleba said.
The parties also discussed promising areas of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Peru.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the agreement will enter into force after the parties complete the necessary internal procedures. Citizens of Ukraine will still have the opportunity to make visa-free tourist trips to Peru for up to 183 days, which the Republic of Peru introduced by unilateral decision in 2003.
