Ukrainian swimmer Maksym Krypak (class – S10) won the gold medal in the 400-meter freestyle.

It should be noted that Ukraine continues to be 4th in the number of medals (71), but missed in the ranking of the national team of the Netherlands, which won one more gold. The national teams of the United States, the Paralympic Committee of Russia, Great Britain, and the absolute leader China, which has 136 medals, are higher in the ranking.
In the 400-meter freestyle final, Kripak was one of the contenders for the medal. In time, Dutchman Bas Takken, Canadian Alexander Eliot, and Australian Thomas Gallagher were ahead of the Ukrainian swimmer in qualifying.
Kripak started the swim as the leader and passed the first half of the distance in the first place. He is followed by Dutchman Takken and Australian Gallagher.
As a result, Kripak did not give a gold medal. And became the winner of the swim, having covered the distance in less than 4 minutes.
In general, Kripak won the fifth medal of the 2020 Paralympics. In this respect, he was equal to another swimmer Andrei Trusov, ahead of him in the number of gold medals in Tokyo. For Ukraine, this “gold” became the 16th at the 2020 Paralympics.
