Bosch developers have improved the two-component composition of Aerotwin wiper blades. They added a special component to the rubber edge, which made the rubber profile much more efficient and resistant to environmental influences.

Protection Plus is even more resistant to abrasion, as well as to the effects of factors such as UV radiation and ozone.
The results of numerous tests conducted in both field and laboratory conditions proved:
The renewed Bosch Aerotwin brushes provide impeccable quality of cleaning of glass without stains even under the negative mechanical influence on a rubber edge of such pollution, as, for example, insects, dust, pollen.
The new Bosch Aerotwin rubber edge shows less abrasion and therefore significantly extends the life of the wipers.
Thanks to the improved formula of a rubber edge the updated brushes have even better indicators of silent work – the screen wiper moves on glass especially smoothly and quietly, irrespective of weather conditions.
The properties of the renewed rubber are preserved even in extreme conditions – at abnormally high and low temperatures (brushes with renewed rubber were tested in the conditions of severe northern European winter, in the morning, in frost minus 17-20 degrees).
Stable and flawless cleaning result thanks to the durable rubber profile of the wiper
In addition, Aerotwin wipers are equipped with two specially made spring plates, Evodium. They transmit the contact pressure of the wiper blade to the windshield and evenly distribute the pressure along the entire length of the wiper on the windshield. On the one hand, it promotes uniform cleaning without stains. On the other hand, the uniform contact pressure of the Evodium plates in combination with the new improved rubber compound provides increased resistance and reduced wear of the wiper edge.
Tested in the field
The development of the updated Aerotwin was preceded by a three-stage testing phase. Engineers from the Bosch wiper blades in Tienen, Belgium, as well as employees from Bosch’s Eastern European offices, tested four different rubber profiles in the field, at a temperature of -20 degrees. In the process of testing, special attention was paid to the efficiency of the brushes in the conditions of severe frosts, typical of Central and Northern European countries.
At the first stage, before installing the wipers, experts measured the main parameters of the wiper lever that affect the efficiency of the brushes:
lever pressure force,
the angle of inclination to the glass in two positions – horizontal and vertical.
In the second stage, the brushes were tested during operation for two main parameters:
quality of glass cleaning – no streaks and stains;
noise level – with the help of a special device for measuring sound, experts recorded the noise level that occurs during the operation of Aerotwin brushes.
The movement of the wiper on the glass should not make any unpleasant sounds that can irritate and distract the driver. It is the silent operation of the brushes – one of the key indicators of their premium quality.
The third stage involved re-testing every 1.5-2 months.
Based on the results of the tests, Bosch engineers determined the profile of the tire with the best performance. It was used to produce the updated Bosch Aerotwin.
