If, as you have heard, the word “pies”, you immediately imagine a lot of dough, it can be anything, but not verzare. Here everything is exactly the opposite. This is exactly the case when there is a lot of filling and little dough, in addition, its thinnest layers after baking are crumbly and crunchy, like puff pastry.
The dough is not only delicious, but also docile and pleasant to work with. It is very easy to roll out to a transparent state, without requiring additional filling of a working surface with flour.
Ingredients:
for the dough:
3-3.5 cups of flour
1 glass of water
0.5 cups of vegetable oil
0.5 teaspoons of salt
For the filling:
0.5 kg of cabbage
1 carrot
1 bulb
vegetable oil
ground black pepper
salt
for lubrication:
1 egg yolk
preparation
Combine room temperature water with vegetable oil and salt and mix.
Sift the flour into a bowl, make a deepening in the center, pour water and oil into it, quickly knead a soft elastic dough, cover it with a napkin or wrap in cling film and let rest for 20-25 minutes.
Saute chopped onions in oil with grated carrots on a large grater, add shredded cabbage, salt, pepper and fry until soft.
Download the finished dough with a roller, divide into small pieces, thinly roll them into rectangular cakes, lay out on the edge of each filling, turn the side edges, roll into rolls, lay them on a baking sheet and grease with egg yolk.
Bake for 20-25 minutes at 180 ° C to form a golden ruddy crust.
On a side note
Egg pies can be sprinkled with sesame seeds or flax seeds before baking.
