Kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – November 11,2021- The main language competition has begun – the XXII Petro Jacyk International Competition of the Ukrainian Language.
“We all understand that the language challenges are not over yet. They are still what they were in 2001, when ‘Eccentric from Canada’, as Petro Jacek press was at the time, launched the competition,” the letter read.
Flint noted that the competition has a difficult but very responsible mission to establish the Ukrainian state, the formation of the state language, to promote the Ukrainian language both in Ukraine and abroad, as well as to unite the world Ukrainians.
“I would like to wish all participants and winners of this competition in previous years, regardless of what you do, whether it is related to the development of philological education and the establishment of the Ukrainian language, or other areas, to firmly hold the idea of Ukrainian statehood!” – added the language ombudsman.
It will be recalled that during the online meeting with Serhiy Kasyanchuk , Director of the UWC Office in Ukraine, State Commissioner for State Language Protection Taras Kremin stated that strengthening cooperation with Ukrainians abroad at the level of language diplomacy is one of the key elements of cooperation with the World Congress of Ukrainians.
Taras Kremin also provided recommendations on ways to preserve and spread the Ukrainian language in the diaspora.
