Kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – November 13,2021- US President Joe Biden has signed a law on secure equipment that prohibits Chinese companies such as Huawei and ZTE from obtaining network licenses in the United States.
According to the law, the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) should no longer consider any applications for permits to use equipment from Chinese companies that pose an unacceptable national security risk.
FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr said that since 2018, the agency has approved more than 3,000 applications from Huawei. The law will help the site to ensure that dangerous equipment from companies such as Huawei and ZTE cannot be connected to US telecoms networks.
The law also states that the FCC may revoke previous permits issued to Chinese companies earlier.
It was reported that the bill was approved unanimously by the US Senate on October 28, and in early November – by the US House of Representatives by an overwhelming majority.
In March, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) identified five Chinese companies as a national security threat under a 2019 law intended to protect US communications networks.
In addition to Huawei and ZTE, it includes Hytera, Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology, and Zhejiang Dahua Technology.
