They noted that they promote healthy eating in the media, in addition – consultations on these issues are provided by family doctors. The latter inform Zhytomyr residents about healthy eating, taking into account WHO recommendations and national recommendations of the Ministry of Health.
Health workers of the region promote healthy eating, involving in the process also educational institutions and various public organizations, namely: NGO “Territory of health, beauty and success”, NGO “Ukrainian Nordic Walking Federation”.
In medical institutions of the region, Zhytomyr residents with an increased risk of developing diseases (cardiovascular, diabetes) can have their blood cholesterol levels measured free of charge.
“When patients apply to medical institutions of the region, endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, nutritionists develop individual rehabilitation programs for overweight and obese patients, taking into account the assessment of individual health indicators,” the regional state administration said.
